So much for a shiny new installation photo! These panels had only just landed when bad weather left them coated with dust.
Annoying, but it’s a useful reminder that basic maintenance helps your panels work at full efficiency.
Thanks to today’s technology, you can mostly ‘fit and forget’ your solar panels. But if where you live is dry and dusty then it’s worth cleaning the surface glass a couple of times a year.
Don’t forget:
- Just use cold water! Avoid abrasive cloths and harsh chemicals at all times.
- Avoid stepping on the panels – they are glass after all.
- Be sensible – consider asking a professional qualified for working at height.
