On 30th June 2025, the Government started its phased switch-off of the Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS). Without it, your Economy 7 tariff will no longer work.
OK, so it’s July and we’re in the middle of a heatwave but if you still have an RTS meter, you will experience problems when temperatures fall.
So what do you need to do now?
Just hang tight. No need to panic. No need to change your heaters. Just make sure you take action when your energy supplier gets in touch. With a smart meter, most energy suppliers offer similar tariffs that will give you off-peak periods for heating your home.
